South Carolina Trip
Well it's about time we started blogging, so here goes. Kip and pro-staffer Josh Bartlam kicked off their 2009 Spring Turkey Season this past weekend down in South Carolina with friends Adam and Ben Copenhaver.
Muzzy set us up with some sweet turkey slaying gear, but scattered storms and high winds put a slight damper on the weekend. Luckily, Ben had plenty of hog sausage, backstraps, and Call of Duty on xBox to keep us occupied during the downpours. We still managed to call in a jake, several hens, and a nice tom that just wouldn't provide a good clear shot.
The most eventful part of the weekend came from a hog stalk Saturday that found Kip within 20 yards of 3 nice sows, only to be busted by swirling wind just as he started to draw on one. With all the hogs on the property, it is certain we will be making a return trip equipped with the Scent Strike and Ol'Man stands to bring some bacon back to VA here in the near future.
